My name is Basetsana Ntoi, and I’m thrilled to share my inspiring journey. At one point, I felt stuck and disappointed in life – I faced unemployment and didn’t have the funds for college, which made me feel like my life wasn’t moving in any direction. But deep down, I desperately wanted change. I knew I needed to acquire new skills to seize new opportunities and find a stable job.
In 2025, something exciting happened. I saw an advert for Thabiso Skills Development Centre in Welkom, and I immediately reached out to learn more about the courses they offered. That moment marked the beginning of a new chapter in my life.
I enrolled in the Office Administration Course in February 2025 and it completely transformed my outlook. The course taught me how to work in a logical and systematic way—how to plan my daily activities, handle administrative documentation, and deliver excellent customer service. It gave me practical skills that boosted my confidence and made me feel ready to take on any challenge.
But that’s not all! I also attended the Life Skills course, which was truly eye-opening. I learned to nurture a positive attitude, improve my listening skills, and persevere through challenges. I discovered the importance of putting effort into what I want to achieve and investing my time wisely on positive and meaningful things.
Thanks to Thabiso Skills Development Centre, I’ve learned how to keep a positive mindset, make every minute count, and truly believe in myself. The entire experience – from Life Skills, Small, Medium and Microenterprise training, and Office Administration – empowered me so much that I successfully found employment at Clothing Junction in Welkom.
This journey has shown me that with the right guidance, determination, and a positive attitude, anything is possible. I am now confident, prepared, and excited about my future – ready to take on new opportunities and continue growing every day!
