My name is Boithatelo Masokela, and I am so happy and grateful to share my journey. Looking back at where I started and where I am today fills me with excitement and appreciation because my journey has been one of growth, learning, and discovering my true passion.
Before registering at Thabiso Skills Development Centre, I faced many challenges. I remember struggling to find a training programme that offered practical skills and meaningful knowledge that could truly make a difference in my life. I wanted an opportunity that would help me build a future, but I wasn’t finding the right path. Then I discovered Thabiso Skills Development Centre, and that decision became one of the best choices I have ever made.
From the moment I joined, I was surrounded by supportive mentors who believed in me and encouraged me every step of the way. I am incredibly thankful because they helped me see something in myself that I had not fully recognised before — that I had the potential to achieve far more than I ever imagined. Their guidance and support motivated me to believe in myself and pursue my dreams with confidence.
At Thabiso Skills Development Centre, I gained practical knowledge and hands-on experience in makeup artistry. I learned skincare preparation, colour theory, makeup application techniques, and many other valuable skills that helped shape me into the person I am becoming today. Every lesson inspired me and made me fall even more in love with what I do.
Today, I am proud and excited to say that I started my own makeup artist business. I have had the amazing opportunity to work with different clients, including brides and many wonderful people who trusted me to be part of their special moments.
There is no better feeling than doing something I genuinely love and seeing the happiness and confidence on my clients’ faces.
I truly hope my story inspires others to follow their passion and invest in themselves. My journey has taught me that with the right mindset, determination, support, and belief in yourself, it is possible to build a fulfilling career doing what you love.
This has been an incredible journey for me. I have learned so much, grown in confidence, and discovered my purpose. I am thankful for every lesson, every opportunity, and every person who supported me along the way – and the best part is, I am still loving every moment of it.
