Student Success Stories

Craig Mohau Sethojane

I am Craig Mohau Sethojane and I am truly grateful for the journey that has brought me to where I am today. Born in Qwa-Qwa and raised in Welkom Free State, I am now 34 years old and blessed to be self-employed, specialising in carpentry and kitchen units.

My educational path, from primary and secondary school to Technical and Vocational Education and Training College in Bloemfontein, laid a foundational groundwork. However, it was my time at Thabiso Skills Development Centre, where I immersed myself in carpentry and welding, that truly transformed my capabilities. I am deeply appreciative of the comprehensive training I received at Thabiso. Doing Carpentry and Welding at Thabiso was a pivotal moment for me.

I registered for Carpentry in the 2nd intake of 2023 and Welding in the 3rd Intake of 2023. The training profoundly improved my basic skills, enabling me to confidently create kitchen units. I am so thankful for the opportunity to now inspire younger individuals – demonstrating that with dedication, it is indeed possible to forge a brighter future for oneself. I learned invaluable rules, techniques, and ideas, and cultivated essential skills in forming and building teamwork – all while appreciating the beauty in craftsmanship.

I am incredibly fortunate to now have my own small business in carpentry. It fills me with immense gratitude to share that I have already been able to employ one person, a well-trained individual who I had the privilege of mentoring myself. She is performing exceptionally well, and together we have successfully completed over 30 jobs in less than two years. Every project has been a success, and I am thankful that we have not received a single complaint from our clients.

Thanks to the Thabiso Skills Development Centre team for having a profound impact in my life.
