My name is Ramabele Isaac Van Rooi, and I am truly grateful for the opportunity to share my journey. Looking back at where I started and where I am today fills me with happiness and appreciation because my journey has been one of growth, learning, and discovering new possibilities.
In September 2024, I enrolled at Thabiso Skills Development Centre in the Electrical course with a desire to improve my skills and broaden my knowledge. I wanted to equip myself with practical abilities that would not only strengthen my career but also create opportunities for growth in other areas of my life. Looking back now, joining Thabiso Skills Development Centre was one of the best decisions I could have made.
From the very beginning, I experienced a welcoming and supportive environment. The facilitators were patient, knowledgeable, and always willing to assist us. I am especially thankful for the encouragement and support I received during the training. Their dedication made learning enjoyable and gave me confidence to believe in my abilities. The quality of training was excellent, and every lesson provided practical knowledge that I could apply in real-life situations.
Attending the Electrical course significantly improved my knowledge and skills. More than just learning technical work, the training gave me confidence, discipline, and a stronger understanding of how practical skills can create opportunities. The experience showed me the value of continuous learning and reminded me that investing in yourself always brings rewards.
Today, I am proud to say that I am currently employed at Lejweleputswa District Municipality as a Maintenance Officer. I truly believe that the knowledge and experience I gained at Thabiso Skills Development Centre played an important role in helping me strengthen my skills and contribute positively in my career.
What makes me even more grateful is that the knowledge I gained did not only assist me in my employment but also empowered me to create opportunities beyond my working hours. After work, I run my own side business where I provide services in electrical work, plumbing, HVAC systems, swimming pool maintenance, and renovations. It gives me great joy to use my skills to help others while building something meaningful for myself and my future.
My journey has taught me that growth begins when you take a chance on yourself.
